每一只抽沙船都缺少不了定位樁，所謂的定位樁就是為一根卷板構成筒狀的構件，下端呈錐形，外形相似于一支鉛筆，故又稱鉛筆樁。底部一般灌注石塊或鐵塊，以降低重心。
抽沙船均有兩根固定樁。施工時，主樁位于開挖中心線上并保持插入狀態(tài)，副樁保持懸空狀態(tài)。當需要挖泥船前移、改變絞刀的縱向切土時，主副樁交替下落。嚴禁兩根固定樁同時下落進行施工生產(chǎn)及抗風。

1、其主樁安裝在一個由液壓油缸推動、可相對于船體作短距離前后移動的臺車上。其作用是大大減少了換樁的時間，提高了生產(chǎn)效率。
